One of the hardest lessons of 21 year old me artist vs now is the notion of permanence. There's this ego of "I just got this exactly right, I can't risk fucking it up again." And that will destroy you. The point isn't to get it exactly right the first time. The point is to do it so many times you're not afraid of fucking it up again. A voice will say something like "I just spent 10 minutes to two hours doing something specific with a tiny bit of detail." and I have to answer "So what? I'm an artist, I'll just do more arting."
